Islamic Religious Education at school includes learning to read, understand, and memorize Qur’anic verses. During memorization activities, students may benefit from learning supports that help them recall verse sequences step by step. This article describes Qur’an learning assistance using Card Sort media for Surah Al-Ma’idah verse 48 at SMAN 2 Palangka Raya. The activity was conducted as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program through a teaching-assistance placement and involved Grade X students in classes X-1, X-3, X-7, and X-8. The media consisted of cards containing the opening fragments of verses, which served as cues for recalling the continuation of the text. The learning sequence took place over four meetings, with the fourth meeting focused on memorization. This article uses a descriptive account based on the implementation process and observations made during lessons. The observations indicated that the opening-fragment cards helped students recognize parts of the verse and provided cues when recalling the sequence. Card Sort can therefore serve as a simple alternative to support Qur’an memorization practice. These findings are descriptive and are not intended as statistically measured evidence of improved ability.
